so, graduation is coming. . . im nervous, but more so excited. it’s strange to think of waking up and not having to go to school. i think i will miss it but as long as i keep creating and setting a schedule for myself i think ill be ok.
on a sour note, i have so much work to do and im sick. im so tired and sneezy and runny.
last night i went to the silkscreen studio and worked on my project which is coming along, but when printing realized that i had developed my plates backwards- i blame the dayquil- so i had to redo the text on one of my plates- it will be ok, i just wish the studio was opened later. when i was at SCAD and it was finals time the studios were open 24 hours. last night ours closed at 9!
I just have to keep plugging away, i guess.
Today Evan from JibJab came to lecture and i was so annoyed that i was sick and tired because finally someone comes and lectures and actually wants to have a conversation during it and im too tired to think. other than that it was pretty great- he said what i grew up hearing- do what you love.
im going to go make some chicken noodle soup, get in my pajammies and open my sketchbook to do just that.
quiet as a subway car. . .

i have been living in a very nice apartment in bushwick on a not very nice block- aka murder avenue for a year now. the only thing that bugs me is the noise of the train- not the stabbings and gun shots and cars parked in front of my door engulfed in flames (all true stories). honesly, i like my neighborhood, although its charm is somewhat diminished by the bedford avenue crowd that is slowly taking over.
as you can see, my windows are about 10 feet away from the subway tracks and the platform. i can hear people opening up bags of chips and screwing off coke bottle caps. it’s ridiculous. i thought that i might get used to it, but the words “this is the last stop” work themselves into my dreams. . .

I can’t believe graduation is coming. Just a couple of months and Ill be walking in and out of the WaMu theater. I have to say that I’m really nervous. I started college in 2000, had a roundabout way of making it to parsons after spending years in savannah georgia and now its almost over. . . aie yie yie!
anyway, I suppose i will keep doing what i do when im not in classes- draw. draw. draw.
speaking of. . . here are some new illustrations…..
